DVR unable to record networks since switch over

TV Arts

Mr
This is really fucking maddening, my dvr is all pixilation on the
networks since the local stations switched over last week, nothing I
record off NBC,ABC,CBS,Fox, etc is watchtable now. Anyone else having
problems?

Tom
Do you have your DVR between your TV and your converter box?

Tom

Mr
I don't have a converter box, I have digital cable, I don't need one.

Is this a DVR provided by the cable company, or a standalone DVR you
connected yourself?

Mr
Comcast DVR, 3rd one this year.

That's a good point. If it's a cable co-issued DVR, that could make a
difference, than using a TiVo or a DVD recorder with a built-in hard
drive.

If a cable company DVR (or PVR as we call them for some strange
reason), sift around the forum. Although Canadian, we use Scientific
Atlanta (Rogers) or Motorola (Shaw).

Tom
Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you are having problem because of
the change to broadcast digital.

What does your cable company say?

Tom

Mr
They told me to unplug the box for 2 minutes to let it reset, that
didn't work.

Tom
Charter told me to do that with my HD box on each of the numerous
calls I made to get my HD working.

They finally sent out a tech who told me there was no way the customer
support dept. had the capability to get the box working. Only the
technician's support department could provide the required support.

Good luck!

Do it and call them up again.
