Stark and Kim send in a photon drill to take a sample of The Artifact
(TM). The next thing we know, its the year 2010. Jack Carter is
married to Allison. Henry is married to Kim. Then Kim's body is found
fused into the Artifact chamber wall, and two realities (one with a dead
Kim, and one with a live Kim) start colliding. Carter's van from 2006
appears suddenly and is hit. A tornado from 2006 appears and tears up
downtown. Its discovered that Henry had gone back in time to save Kim
from being killed by the Artifact, generating a temporal paradox. With
the help of Stark and a Artifact fragment (which has temporal
properties) given them by Henry, Carter sends his mind back in time to
October 3, 2006, the day of the accident. Carter prevents Henry from
saving Kim, and the timeline is saved. Stark has a sample of the
Artifact (which is an artifact from the Big Bang), but the Consortium
wants it, and has commissioned their agent Beverly to get it.

I sure hope Jack Carter didn't just start a 3rd timeline!

Carter solved the problem by restraining Henry. What would have
happened if he had instead acting to stop Kim and Stark from drilling
into that Artifact in the first place? I suspect that the fact the
Artifact was drilled into may have contributed to the temporal
anomalies.

What has Carter told Henry about the future to explain why he stopped Henry
from saving Kim? I assume that Carter will tell Henry the significant fact
that future Henry facilitated the timeline repair mission by giving Carter
the Artifact fragment, and that future Kim was in favor of reparing the
timeline too.
