"Waaaaaaa!! You slept with my husband!!!"

But, it can't be as bad as "ER" was.

It seems to me that if Alicia is separated or divorces she can date Will or
anyone else. Her husband, on the other hand, had affairs while married.
She is the better role model and parent.

I don't think you can conflate "separated or divorced" that way. A
divorced person is legally and (these days) morally single, and can
date anyone just as a single person can. A separated person is still
married, and in the opinion of many people should not be dating
anyone, but working either to fix the marriage or end it.

That said, I do have to agree that I think Alicia is way over the top
in her reaction to the revelation of something that happened years
ago. The only way I can account for it is that she's been holding in
suppressed rage over the original revelations, and over Peter's
forcing her to become the head of the family, and this latest
revelation is just making it all boil over.

True, but if push comes to shove Peter can't argue what Alicia did is
equal to what Peter did. Peter was the one who initially betrayed the
marriage originally. Alicia having an affair later would be understand
able to many people especially when and if it becomes public knowledge
her best friend had sex with Peter and Alica has to work with her every
day. Alicia will still have a lot of sympathy.
----
It is all that but it was her BEST FRIEND that had sex with her husband.
It doesn't matter if Kalinda didn't know Alicia at the time, she is
still the "other woman". And Alicia asked her specifically if she slept
with her husband and Kalinda lied to her. From then they became best
friends, so when Alicia eventually did find out the hurt was much much
worse. Her reaction over the top. She was very well controlled
considering. A lot of woman would've attacked Kalinda for what she did,
especially after becoming friends with her (btw I believe Kalinda became
friends with Alicia out of genuine feelings of affection, not guilt or
for some unknown calculated purpose. That is why Kalinda was so
devastated. Alicia became her one and only true friend).

As it was all she did was threated to scream if Kalinda didn't get out
of her office. She didn't even ask Lockhart and Gardner to fire her. She
just said she will go her way and Kalinda hers. I think that is a very
grown up and maybe even noble response under the circumstances.

=======================================

Well she is a woman who felt betrayed first by her husband of course...but
then by all her suburban housewife "friends" who dropped her like a
radioactive casserole when she was forced by circumstances to move out of
her perfect little neighborhood. Then when she finally finds a friend and
confidant...ONE person she feels she can trust and be open with...she learns
she was one of her hubbies paramours? And you think she's "over the top"
in her reaction? "Over the top" would have been assaulting the girl in the
office. I totally can see how both women could feel wronged by the other.
What impressed me was Kalinda's understanding of the situation...but she is
certainly not surprised in the least herself.

Well, I almost totally agree with you call it 95% agreement. :-) The 5%
I disagree with you is that you were "impressed" with Kalinda's
understanding of the situation. Of course she is. She is the person in
the wrong here. If she blew off Alicia and said it wasn't a big deal
then she would have been totally insensitive to Alicia's pain.

And how in this can Kalinda could feel wronged? She slept with Peter and
lied about it to Alicia's face. I know Alicia didn't listen to her
explanation but in that situation one can understand how Alicia reacted
like that and given what many woman would do in that situation she was
the model of restraint.

============================================================

Neither woman is really "wrong" per se. Kalinda could be blamed for
sleeping with a married man I suppose. But in these cases I would always
lay the most "blame" on the married person. There is no law against her
engaging in sex with a married person the last time I checked. At any rate,
Kalinda did not know Alicia at that point. Before her marital issues began,
Alicia and she would have had nothing in common and would never have become
friends in the first place. The only betrayal was by Peter...who not so
incidentally had sworn Kalinda to secrecy on the matter even after he
learned the two women had become friends. So Kalinda was in a lose/lose
position. She had no choice but to act dishonorably to one or the other.
To her immense credit, she has never tried to place blame on either of them.
