OK, Jeter's brother is in the service and Jeter was on his way to
visit him. Why 120mph?

Barry
Because he wanted to get there before his brother shipped out to
Afghanistan.

That's a lovely guess, but still not supported by the show. All we know
is that there was a protest going on that day. They never say anything
about the brother's whereabouts that day at all. In fact Tim initally
says he wasn't going to Nellis at all, he was going to Reno. We have NO
idea what he was doing.

Now

A friend of mine was convinced the brother was the one driving. I
pointed out the dialog from other threads here don't support that, but
we've developed a new fanwank . . .

I assumed a cop stopped Tim. But what if it was a photoradar deal?
Then it's just a picture of the car going 120, and nobody knows who was
driving.

This doesn't explain Sammy though, who keeps saying to Tim "tell them
why you were speeding" not "tell them what really happened" or some more
ambiguous dialog.

You know, this is a problem when a television starts to get away from the
viewers. I love Aaron Sorkin, but Studio 60 started to lose me with the
lousy sketch comedy, and now I'm not willing to give it anything. Hell,
even the speeches are getting on my nerves, and the show has "Aaron
Sorkin" written right on it, so it's not like I don't know what to expect.

I'm not saying that there aren't continuity problems or plot holes, but
how much would you care if the show wasn't pissing you off already?

Nah. If I wasn't enjoying a lot of the show, I'd have just written it
off as 'can't even be fanwanked' like Voyager or Enterprise.

Agreed about the sketch comedy though. When Josh defended Amanda Peet
by saying "All she's done is Studio 60, and that's working" I wanted to
yell NO IT ISN'T!!

Plus, that's not all she's done. And if it was, boy, they aren't
getting their money's worth out of her.

Exactly. Especially since there's no "Sammy" on the show.

That was Simon who said that. :-)

You do understand the 'Sammy' reference don't you? I said 'Tim' as a
clue. :)

Assuming he isn't lying...could he have been driving to Reno to pick
up his brother?
